Filing a takedown notice
A valid notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) must include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to locate it, such as the URL.
- Your contact information: address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
Counter-notice
If you believe your material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3) to the agent above. It must include your signature, identification of the removed material and its prior location, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was a mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate federal court.
